Report: Volkswagen looking for buyers of its Kaluga-based plant

BERLIN, Oct 19 (PRIME) -- Germany’s car producer Volkswagen suspended operations of its production facility in the Russian city of Kaluga in March, does not plan resumption of the operations, and is looking for buyers of the plant, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung newspaper reported on Wednesday.

“Each cycle of escalation reduces the possibility that we can resume production operations (in Kaluga) in the foreseeable future,” the newspaper cited an unnamed manager of the company.

The newspaper also reported quoting a representative of Volkswagen’s supervisory board that the company’s management “has a clear wish to leave the country completely.”
